Welcome to Muse! Muse is a play-by-post freeform fantasy wolf roleplaying game. Wow, that was long. The roleplaying takes place through a custom web application written and designed by Katie, the game's owner, which includes a forum, members list and other nifty features (and also many to come! as soon as she has the time to write them).

Muse is currently set in the magical land of Aesilion, an island that was once connected to the continents of the Earth. However, through a series of magical events, the connection holding the plates beneath the surface of the Earth was shattered and Aesilion was separated from all known existence. A particular group of wolves already residing in the lands, the wolves of Aurius Hollow, experienced these magical events. They were transformed into strange and ethereal beings and they discovered magical abilities that they could now control. Those wolves are gone now. The time is now many years later. But their magic and their lands remain to be discovered again.

... on 26 August

Well, as you know, I've been pretty absent. My grandfather had a stroke and a heartattack about a week or so ago, so that's pretty much where I've been. Going back and forth to the hospital and such. And also my dumb job, which I finished up about last week so I could start college yesterday.

Sorry for the long absence, my life has just been pretty rough, obviously and real life comes first.

But in the future I will be looking for a few people to help run Muse with me. I mainly have to finish the programming first, so things can be updated via the front end of the website.

Welcome new members! & Lack of activity from Nighty on 12 August

I apologize for not being as active as I would have liked for the past week or so. I promise it's mainly because of work and me being sick. I keep getting very bad headaches that cause me to get nauseated and worse. We think it might just be me trying to quit diet sodas, but who knows. xD

Anywho, sorry and welcome to the new members! :)

There's a bunch of free posts in the forums, or was last time I checked, so go snag one!

I also just trimmed down the members page, because quite a few people had either never logged in, or have not logged in for about 3 weeks. Or if you did not have a proper username (Your wolf's first name should be the username.)

If you were deleted by mistake, please feel free to reapply.

Remember, this is a wolf roleplaying website, so if you are not interested in role playing, please don't sign up. Or at least be aware that you will be deleted.

Pack creation guide, avatars and signatures on 4 August

The pack creation guide is up in the Game Guide (World), for those of you interested. :D It used to be a lot more complicated, but it was mostly unnecessary, so it has been trimmed down to what is absolutely necessary for knowing. x]

Also, avatars and signatures on the forum. Yay, goodies. :) Now Katie gets to have some goodies in the form of front end forum moderator/ user admin. Been updating users/moving threads from the back side of things. XD

Um, I know the dates on the forum are screwy. I'll get that patched up soon. Also going to be working on a bread crumb trail eventually and pagination on the forums. (you know.. the links like Forum -> sub forum -> thread and prev page 1,2,3 next page)

Users online and flash movie on 31 July

Please be aware that the users online may be taken down today, because I am looking for a better script or possibly taking that script and modifying it. The current script doesn't seem to show everyone that is online, but only users that are on a specific page.

The flash header at the top has been given a few modifications. It will now show a night time version after around 6 PM - 5/6 AM, and the day time (the first version we've had already) from 5/6 AM - 6 PM. Neat, huh? And I also made the wolf smaller, because he did seem a little large in comparison to the mountains xD

Unexpected Error, Topsite List, and Note for Old Members on 29 July

There was a registration error, that I have now fixed. I apologize to every visitor that has had trouble registering, if you were intending to register. Sincerest apologies everyone! I didn't realize there was one until today.

Muse will be hosting two Top Site Lists, one for wolf roleplay games and a separate topsite list for other genres! If you're having a hard time getting your website noticed, a top site list is a great way to get visitors, and while helping yourself out, you're helping us out too.
The top site lists will be up within the next few days, so keep on the lookout!

Note for old members! If you need your information from the first Muse on muse.acornrack.com, the website still exists and you're still able to login and retrieve that information (if you still want it).

Game Guide and Auditions on 27 July

The Game Guide is now completely revamped, there's a lot of important information in there.

I also added the Auditions Board. I haven't figure out how to write a script where it lets me choose to accept or decline members (anyone can sign up and automatically be allowed to login, etc.), so I felt it was a good idea to have this sort of thing. Plus if something is wrong, you don't just get declined or deleted and not allowed to sign up, we will help you fix it. I think I like things better this way.

To be fair, it's probably best that everyone, old and new members, audition. So, please post your auditions if you haven't, and fill out your profiles according to the Game Guide. <3

Some updates on 26 July

The new layout I've promised. I hope everyone likes it, I've spent a lot of time on it. The flash animation took me forever.

To our guests, if you wish to view the forums, the link to them is Aesilion, above. :) We're pretty new so there might not be a lot to see, but we'll pick up eventually.

The guidebook, accessible through the link "World", has seen a pretty serious overhaul. You might want to make yourself familiar with it, because a few things have changed or added.

Essentially open on 21 July

Welcome! I'm so happy to have the site up and open again. It's not completely 100% finished, but I've been holding back on it for too long. Way. too. long. to actually wait any longer. I've been working on this for two months. xD But here I go. Everyone feel free to join and begin roleplaying if you want. If you're confused, sit around and chat and ask questions, we don't bite! Note: This time each character will already have a shard (type of magic), so pick one and note to yourself what type it is, I will have a field for you to fill in by tomorrow if you go again and join.

If you're still too confused to start roleplaying, that's okay! You can still join, and wait until I have the site 100% finished. No worries. Basically the site is a free form fantasy wolf roleplay, and the characters just mingle and create packs and have fun roleplaying. You may want to check out the resources for a little help or post an inquiry in the Not-in-character! forum.

Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys. The site is still under some construction, but it is mainly on the coding side. Although I am going to revamp the information this weekend to make it easier for new people to simply jump in and roleplay without being so confused.
